As the permafrost recedes in the arctic, ancient mammoth tusks (Mammuthus primigenius) emerge from the tundra offering an ethically sourced ivory alternative with an amazing integral pattern and irresistable tactile feel and unparalleled luster. The client specified their own inscriptions and calligraphy style which were individually hand-engraved on the brass components. African Blackwood was used as an accent material and contrasting captive rings were applied using composite construction of the accessories using hidden threaded tubes. Stylized lotus motifs were also hand-engraved into various pieces to create an ornate organic effect.
